I started a monthly artist installation project back in March at The Art Shop. It's a window installation space where an alumna installs her work as she sees fit. It is supposed to bring exposure to young alumnae and also to expose work that is less 'commercial' to the public of the Art Shop. I also have the opportunity to act as a curator, and invite the artists to show, discuss their individual project, and see the installation to fruition.
The next window installation opens this Monday, September 8th, with a reception from 5-7 pm. Dear Gilles and Felix an symbiotic installation by Terri Saulin September 8-31, 2008
Terri is installing her work today. The Art Shop is a mess of lustrous white ceramic and vine-like plants! Since there is a late summer storm today, it seems like the Art Shop is a little warm nest.
Life after art school. Unpredictable, enlightening, amazing.
The urge to keep making exists for those who had the independent drive to make art in the first place.
