Girls. Music. Food : A Mantra

And more specifically, the 2009 mantra of one boyfriend; Samuel C. Cusumano. Samuel will be feeding this mantra full force right in front of your very eyes (at least, the eyes of those attendees of a very special event) this Saturday, in celebration of the very fine Julia Child's birth, at Little Berlin Gallery in North Philadelphia.

Sam has been planning playing planking (a word? no, just phonetics), and more accurately tinkering and experimenting and giggling for over a week now in preparation for this upcoming sensation of the ears, eyes, nose, and tongue.

The specifics:

SATURDAY AUGUST 15 AT 8PM

Julia Child's Birthday Party ( #2 in a series of famous folks' themed birthday parties)
Little Berlin Gallery
119 West Montgomery
Philadelphia PA, 19122

You can expect musical performances by:

Blood Like Mine (a duet of lovers)
(members of) Niagara Falls
Sam Cusumano (aka PileOfGirls)

And wait, a level of participation is encouraged! As Samuel is a Fishtown guru of toy tinkering and circuit bending, a festive array of modified children's toys and instruments will be available for musical makings. And horrid sound makings. And dirty dance party beat makings. Etc, etc. Et cetera.

Of course, in honor of Julia Child, there will be a plentitude of fine foods, and 'bottomless' wine and beer, thanks to Philadelphia Brewing Company.

This event was curated, planned, and executed by Beth Heinly, member of Little Berlin Collective and creator of the 3 o'clock book.
